Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 ounce package ravioli from the refrigerated section at the store
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups Italian style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil spray
  • Marinara sauce for dipping
  • Chopped parsley for garnishing

Instructions

  • In a shallow dish, beat together the eggs and water and set aside., salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Beat well with a fork until fully combined. Set aside.
  • In a separate shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, bread crumbs, and cheese. Mix well.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
  • Working in batches, move the ravioli through each station. First, dip ravioli into the egg wash, covering them completely.
  • Next, move the ravioli to the dreadging station, covering them fully with the bread crumb mixture.
  • Place the breaded ravioli into the bottom of the air fryer basket. Be sure they do not touch one another. You will likely cook multiple batches.
  • Lightly spray the bottom of the air fryer basket. Working in batches, place a single layer of coated ravioli in the bottom of the basket. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • After 2-3 minutes, lightly spray the tops of the ravioli with olive oil and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Be sure to check on the ravioli after a total cook time of 4 minutes to ensure they are not getting too crispy.
  • Serve crispy ravioli with additional Parmesan cheese for garnishing, chopped parsley, and marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Look for the “Family Size” package of ravioli. Of course, you can easily halve this recipe and use an 8-ounce package of ravioli instead.
  • For the cheese, you can use bagged cheese or parmesan cheese from the shaker. The shaker usually works best.
  • For this recipe, spray olive oil helps the ravioli get crispy on the outside. It also makes them appear more golden brown and helps with overall taste and presentation.
  • The cook time may vary if you use larger ravioli.
  • Because the ravioli were dipped in an egg mixture, be sure to discard any leftover breadcrumb mixture.
  • Use any type of refrigerated ravioli you wish for this recipe. For best results, use ravioli which is plump.
